After seeing the loss of Native American languages and even French outside the province on Quebec in Canada, I’m curious; how long do you think we have before there is just one universal language? Do you think this will ever happen?

Well, if i’m to believe the future as predicted by The Legion of Super-Heroes, we won’t have to worry because everyone will speak Interlac. (nerd)

Now, meanwhile in reality, I don’t know if we’ll ever get to a universal language, but perhaps a series of languages that are all derived from the same place. Similar to how you speak "english" in Canada but it’s slightly different than the "english" I speak in America, and the "english" they speak in England or Ireland. And I don’t necessarily think it’s going to be English, either.

Or:

Love is the only universal language.

  1. No, I don’t think we’ll ever have one single language for the whole planet, nor would I want that.

There is, however, a case for more widespread use to be made of Esperanto as a second language for us all.

  2. In reply to Bill Chapman, some people think that Esperanto protects minority languages by placing all languages on an equal footing.

Also many people do not realise how popular, as a living language, Esperanto is.

The study course http://www.lernu.net is now receiving 120,000 hits per month.

    That can’t be bad 🙂
